Many foreigners decide to get medical treatment in Colombia due to its World-Class Healthcare System, extreme affordability, and speed in which procedures can be obtained. Surgeries, MRIs, and dental procedures can generally be secured for a fraction of the cost as back at home and with no long waiting times at the back of a healthcare queue. Stem-Cell Therapy, Cosmetic Surgery, and other medical procedures not covered by insurance in North America and Europe are especially sought after in Colombia and easy to obtain. Due to the increasing number of medical visitors in Colombia, many of the bigger hospitals now have international patient coordinators on staff and there are many bi-lingual personal assistants who can be hired to facilitate doctor visits for those who don’t speak Spanish.

The supporting documents submitted must not exceed 5MB in total.

Government Visa Fee

Roughly $55 USD to apply, Roughly $178 USD for the Visa (the Colombian Foreign Affairs Ministry quotes in USD for stability)

Duration

Up to 180 days - Depending on the requirements of the medical procedure and at the discretion of the Immigration Officer
