If you are the Parent of a Colombian citizen, you may apply for a Colombian Visa through your child. This is even if you are not married to the Colombian parent of your child, as the Colombian government has a vested interest in both parents being able to be be close to and care for the child.

If Colombian son or daughter is a minor - Letter from the Colombian parent stating that the Foreign visa applicant parent is fulfilling all their obligations to care for the child
If Colombian son or daughter is an adult - Child must submit a letter on behalf of foreign visa applicant parent, signed, fingerprinted and with a copy of his/her cedula
Visa or Permit Stamp from time of Colombian child’s birth
Demonstrate economic solvency through bank statements and income
