Rentista Visa

The Rentista Visa is available to applicants who can prove that they are receiving passive income from a fixed source. Examples include: annuity payments, rental property income, dividends or interest payments from a company, or payments from a sale of a business. It has the same basic requirements as the Digital Nomad Visa except using non-retirement fixed sources of passive income.

• Passport Data Page

• Passport page with last entry stamp into Colombia

• Passport-style Photo on a white background

• Letter declaring the source of your passive income

• Proof of receipt of passive income from a fixed source equal to 10 times Colombia’s monthly minimum wage, currently $13,000,000 COP

• Criminal background check from the country or countries of previous residence during the last 3 years (Apostilled and Translated)

• Comprehensive insurance

• Rentista Visa Application

The supporting documents submitted must not exceed 5MB in total.

Government Visa Fee

Roughly $55 USD to apply, Roughly $178 USD (the Colombian Foreign Affairs Ministry quotes in USD for stability)

Duration

Up to 2 years - at the discretion of the Immigration Officer

Benefits

You may apply for any dependent spouse and children as derivatives under this Visa

Notes

• This visa will not count toward accrued time for Colombian Residency

• This visa does not impart work authorization
