Student Visa
Most Student Visas are obtained by foreigners attending a dedicated Spanish-language school, though any government-approved learning institution can qualify in any course of study. Student Visas can be given for up to a year but it is at the immigration officer’s discretion. The applicant must show documentation from the school they will attend and that they have the means to support themself for the duration of the visa.

Proof of income or other means of support while studying (you do not have work authorization to work in Colombia)

If you are renewing a student Visa, certification from the school that you finished your first course of study
The supporting documents submitted must not exceed 5MB in total.
Government Visa Fee
Roughly $12 USD to apply, Roughly $51 USD for the visa (the Colombian Foreign Affairs Ministry quotes in USD for stability)
Duration
Up to 1 year - Depending on the length of your course and at the discretion of the Immigration Officer

This visa will not count toward time accrued for Colombian Residency
